Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
SRAC works to improve public health by ensuring universal access to safe drinking water, sanitation infrastructure, and hygiene awareness.
Key Interventions:
- Safe Drinking Water:
- Installing deep tube wells, rainwater harvesting systems, and solar-powered water filtration units in areas with water shortages.
- Conducting water quality monitoring to detect contamination and prevent waterborne diseases.
- Promoting household-level water purification techniques like chlorination and bio-sand filtration.
- Sanitation & Waste Management:
- Constructing sanitary latrines and eco-friendly toilets to reduce open defecation and improve hygiene.
- Implementing waste management systems, including composting and recycling programs, to reduce environmental pollution.
- Hygiene Promotion:
- Running community campaigns on handwashing, menstrual hygiene management, and personal cleanliness.
- Distributing hygiene kits containing soap, disinfectants, sanitary pads, and water containers.
Training schoolchildren and teachers on proper hygiene practices to foster long-term behavioral change.
